ART vs NATURE

Is it true you are either an art person or a nature person? I think not and here’s why, you can find plenty of nature in art and art nature everywhere. I mean ever heard of Monet? How about one of my favorites, Bob Ross? That is all that guy ever painted and he did it beautifully and showed everyone that anyone can paint trees.

As for art in nature, this one is more subjective. When I see a flower blooming from the dark gray concrete of the city, that to me is art. If you haven’t read Sidewalk Flowers by JonArno Lawson I highly suggest it! This book without words shows a little girls journey finding beauty in her black and white city and how beauty and colors can be found anywhere if you look hard enough.

So, now to art vs. nature, who would win? Are you an art lover, museum goer who either owns or would like to own artwork by famous painters? Or, are you a nature loving, everyday hiker and gardening connoisseur? If you asked me that question I would say both happily! I once asked my aunt why she was driving in both lanes and her response was, why not? While I do not suggest or condone driving that way I have always taken that response as a guide to living my life. Why not? You can love art and nature because they are both equally great and beautiful in their own way.

The conclusion to the ultimate question of art vs. nature is…be you! When the rules demand structure, tear down the walls. My brand, Fashion Is Art, is artsy and sustainable. We use natural ingredients such as flowers to make our dye so we can create art to wear. I am a woman of many contradictions but this is one of my favorites.
